Sabyasachi

From India’s leading design house, to international luxury brand

“The trick to being modern and staying relevant, no matter how fast the world changes around you, is to learn from the old and listen to the new, creating a kinship between what once was and what will be.”

— Sabyasachi Mukherjee

Since becoming the go-to bridal designer for India’s celebrities, Sabyasachi has achieved the status of India’s top designer, and a high-profile celebrity.

Born in Calcutta, he derives his inspiration from a breadth of literature, art, and music. His passion for preserving and celebrating the craft skills of local artisan communities - including weavers, block printers, embroiderers, dyers, goldsmiths, and mill workers - has cultivated numerous long-term relationships that are borne out in his lavish designs.

Work of this nature sits at the heart of SUM’s luxury branding practice, where cultural legacy and contemporary ambition are carefully aligned.

Sabyasachi’s eponymous fashion label is known for its maximalist luxury wear, offering consumers couture, ready to wear options, and fine jewellery.

In addition to showcasing garments, jewellery, and accessories, we would also introduce international consumers to the world of Sabyasachi.

One aspect of that world would be to highlight the brand’s collaborations with numerous global luxury brands, including:

  • Sabyasachi X De Beers
  • Sabyasachi X Christian Louboutin
  • Sabyasachi X Morgenthal Frederics
  • Sabyasachi X L’Oreal
  • Sabyasachi X H&M

The brand’s social initiatives and its art foundation would also form components of the broader story.

As such, the site is incredibly rich in both its product mix and its editorial content, representing an authentic online introduction to Sabyasachi’s brand and its remarkable story.
